This doesn't touch upon all aspects of cables but is a good general rule.

I recommend further surfing the internet if you are or become passionate about audio cables but definitely take any and all advice with a grain of salt. Specially if there is no hard scientific evidence just pure speculation and their "opinion".

TECH ARTICLE: “High End Cables” or Smoke and Mirrors?

So as my daily troll..I mean stroll around the internet I found an interesting company in the UK selling audio cables. The prices are excellent and the build quality top notch. Surprisingly the prices were not of the esoteric range that I am used to seeing for these released and iterations.

I stumbled across an article which they posted that really took my eye. Yes it is definitely playing with a Crocodile bringing this subject up but it is something that I found very interesting and compelled to share!

Transition 2 Betterness Gala with performance by Mike Cerveni - Musician

The Annual Transition 2 Betterness Gala was held at the Ciociaro Club, Windsor, Ontario in Canada over this past weekend.
Each year over 1000 people mark this night off in their social calendar not only for a wonderful night out but more importantly to support a good cause.

"Transition 2 betterness was founded by two young local women Doris Lapico and Tania Sorge, sharing a similar story. Having their lives and families affected by cancer these two individuals felt the need to help others in their community who would also share a moment in the battle against cancer. From this a grass root organization that you now know as Transition to Betterness began and has touched many local families and patients. The mission of T2B would be to simply create a compassionate and homelike atmosphere within the hospital setting"

Introducing - Mike Cerveni - Musician

Mike Cerveni, hailing from Windsor, Ontario, started playing guitar at the age of 11. Heavily influenced by his extremely musical family, he started writing his own songs at the age of 16. Mike’s sound is soulful, and speaks to the heart. His voice is pure, and you can feel the emotion when he sings every note.

“The World You Know” is Mike’s debut album, released in autumn of 2010 featuring songs such as “On Your Mark,” “Right Now, and “A Moment.” The album “The World You Know” is about coping and getting through loss. We all have tough times, and go through heartache; for Mike, writing was a way to help get out things he couldn’t express.

VAF Octavio 1 - Boombox for the Audiophile, My most recent purchase and project.

The highly regarded Speaker Manufacturer released the VAF Octavio 1 Speaker dock a number of years ago. If you haven't heard of it before well its about time you did! (no pun intended).
VAF Research have been creating and building amazing quality systems in Australia for over 3 decades.

A few years ago I was searching for a quality portable audio system to be the soundtrack for when we go to the beach (on christmas) or for our monthly firetwirling meets in a local park. I came accross the VAF Octavio. I have always wanted to own VAF speakers but could never afford the high (but reasonable) price that this quality equipment sells for. The Octavio was released at $799AUD so was still unfortunately out of reach.

Movement Electronic Music Festival 2011

The world renown Movement 2011 Festival will be running from May 28-30th. Formerly known as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) it has become a world class event within the annual electronica calendar.

Up to 100,000 music fans will converge in Detroit, Michigan for the Movement festival this year which boasts an amazing line up of well known and underground artists all spinning their beats.

I will be present at all three days of festivities to see what not only Detroit has to offer but to enjoy Dj's who have traveled across the globe to also be there. It looks to be an amazing weekend filled with spectacular lighting shows, quality music and ultimately a joyous experience.

Over the years I have been an avid music festival fanatic in Australia attending and working at the likes of Soundwave, Future Music Festival, Parklife and Stereosonic to name a few. I look forward to attending my first event in the United States and seeing the kind of show they can put on. The Aussie festival scene will be a tough act to beat but my fingers are crossed that Movement will be a strong contender.
The performances I am anticipating the most is the exciting Beardyman but worth noting is the infamous Fat Boy Slim and Felix Da Housecat.

REVIEW - Portable Headphone Amplifier - PA2V2 - June 20 2011

I have just completed testing and writing a review on the PA2V2 Portable headphone amp from Gary Ali at Electronic Avenues.

Portable audio is an extremely large requirement in my life. Currently travelling through Canada and America leads me on many long flights. Everyday while I work I am sure to be plugged in to help concentration and disconnect from the bustle around me.

It shouldn't cost you $20,000 dollars to build a system that will compete with and better many commercial cinema systems.

I will guide you through each step that I took and the reasons for my decisions. I'm sure your own plan and build will differ to mine but I hope to be of some assistance in many different areas of involvement.
